Put your trust in a practice with more than 50 years of experience. Vision Care Associates has the latest technology on our side to help in the fight against glaucoma, amblyopia, macular degeneration and other vision problems. Feel better knowing we will do everything necessary to help you understand your condition and take the proper steps to manage or heal it.
Did you know some eye conditions, such as cataracts, can be treated or cured with laser surgery? If surgery becomes a necessary part of your eye care, we will refer you to an ophthalmologist and provide thorough pre- and post-surgery support. We will work in tandem with your surgeon to keep you updated every step of the way.
As mentioned above, Vision Care Associates utilizes the industry’s latest technological advancements to ensure we offer Spencer residents the area’s best optometry services.
Optomap Image Screenings: We use this type of image screening to detect eye diseases and other severe health issues by photographing the retina. Many patients choose this procedure because it allows us to capture digital images of up to 85% of the retina; any subtle changes can help identify many life-threatening diseases and conditions. This includes cardiovascular disease, stroke, and cancer, as well as diseases specific to the eye.
Photography: We take photographs of the front and inside of the eyes, so we can review and compare any changes that may have occurred at a later date.
Refraction: A refraction test is completed as part of a routine eye exam and is used to calculate the best prescription for you. We use both automated and doctor-controlled instruments, in addition to patient-directed methods. This test is used to diagnose a range of conditions including: astigmatism, hyperopia (farsightedness), myopia (nearsightedness) and presbyopia.
Visual Fields Testing: A visual fields test is used to detect blind spots, which can be a sign of eye disease as well as an obstruction throughout the brain. We measure the horizontal and vertical range of your vision, as well as your sensitivity. This will help us examine the shape and size of blind spots, which will indicate any clues about the visual structures of your brain, the optic nerve and your eye health.
